Yes. Every Valley e-bike is fully compliant with NSW regulations and approved for use on the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.

Our bikes are:

For Babies & Toddlers

• Secure rear baby seats (9 months + up to 25kg

For Younger Children

• Enclosed child trailers for a smooth, comfortable ride

For Kids 4+

• Cargo bikes with rear seating are designed for stability and space

For Kids 7+

We have lightweight e-bikes for confident riders

All family bookings include:

• Helmet fitting for every rider

• Safety briefing before departure

• Advice on suitable distances and turnaround points

All Valley e-bikes are collected from our home base at the start of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail in Murwillumbah.

8 Railway Street, South Murwillumbah

Our white house with the white picket fence is located right near the Murwillumbah trailhead — so you can roll straight onto the trail with no busy road riding.

Once you book, we’ll send:

• Parking instructions

• What to bring

• Your trail map

We keep pickup simple, relaxed, and efficient so you can get riding quickly.

Yes we do, well sort of. My partner Britt has her own little business that operates from our home called Pedals & Picnics. She has awesome push bikes for you to hire from $40 Pedals and Picnics Bike Hire

We’ve got you covered.

All Valley e-bikes are professionally maintained and safety-checked before every ride. Mechanical issues are rare — but if something unexpected happens, simply contact us, and we’ll assist immediately.

Depending on your location, we can:

• Talk you through a quick fix

• Bring a replacement bike

• Provide support to get you back comfortably

We don’t leave riders stranded.

Our team operates locally at the Murwillumbah trailhead, so help is close by if needed.

Hire

We offer tailored e-bike experiences to suit different riders and budgets:

Valley Signature Ride™ (Premium Comfort Fat Tyre E-Bikes)

• Up to 4-hour ride — $100

• Up to 8-hour ride — $125

All rentals include:

• NSW-legal e-bike compliant with the Northern Rivers Rail Trail

• Pedal-assist up to 25 km/h

• Local safety briefing + route tips

• Quality locks, helmets, and trail support

Yes. However to avoid disapointment online bookings are essential

The following items are available as part of your rental at no additional fee.

With flexible booking times rentals begin at 8am and half hour increments till 1pm with the bike to be returned to Valley Ebikes by 5pm unless previously organised for a later time or a pick-up scheduled. (All booking are done on NSW Daylight Savings Time)

$200 Security Hold on a credit card is required with hires

You will need to bring a valid driver's license and credit card (we may require a pre-authorisation) when you collect your bike rental.

The Trail

YYes — the Northern Rivers Rail Trail is ideal for beginners.

The trail follows a former railway line, which means:

• Gentle gradients

• Wide, well-maintained surface

• No general vehicle traffic

• Clear signage and distance markers

It’s designed to be a relaxed, low-stress riding experience — perfect for first-time e-bike riders, families and couples.

To make it even easier, every Valley booking includes:

• A safety briefing before you roll out

• Route guidance based on your comfort level

• 500W NSW-legal pedal assist (25km/h limit)

• Stable, comfort-engineered bike setups

If you’re new to e-bikes, we’ll walk you through everything before you start. Most riders are surprised at how natural and effortless it feels within the first few minutes.

Yes! We provide an easy-to-follow trail map with every Valley e-bike rental.

You’ll receive a digital map when you book, plus a printed version at pickup — showing:

• Key trail sections and distances

• Recommended rest stops & lookouts

• Toilets, water stations, cafes

• km markers so you always know where you are

Our team also gives personalised route tips when you collect your bike — so you ride confidently and don’t miss the best parts of the trail.

No — the Northern Rivers Rail Trail is a dedicated shared-use path for cyclists and walkers.

There is no general vehicle traffic on the trail.

You may occasionally see authorised maintenance vehicles operated by the managing council, but these are rare and move slowly.

The trail is designed to be a relaxed, low-stress riding experience — ideal for families, couples and first-time e-bike riders.

All Valley e-bikes are set up specifically for the Rail Trail, with stable 4” fat tyres, comfortable seating, and NSW-compliant 500W pedal-assist (25km/h limit) to keep your ride smooth and controlled.

The entire return ride is 48 km. You can finish it in 4 hours, or you can make the most of it and book a full day.  There is so much to see and take its great to make a day of the trail.

Yes — we have a 7-seater and 12-seater van to pick you up anywhere along the trail, so you can ride one way and shuttle back.
